Roles & Responsibilities:
 
Content Creation responsibilities
  • Understanding of story fundamentals- effective character, trajectory, hook, authenticity/details and calls-to-action.
  • A keen sense of newsworthiness - what makes a story interesting from the audience’s perspective.
  • Stellar writing skills; understanding of news writing techniques Interviewing skills; how to ask effective questions and develop rapport/trust with story subjects.
  • Ability to create a wide range of content including but not limited to newsletters, email, white papers, ebooks, articles, social media updates, infographics, guides, templates, how-to’s, lists, landing pages, case studies, etc.) that always ties back to our core offering.
  • Storyboarding experience; understanding the effectiveness and appropriateness of story assets (text, images, audio, video) and how to combine them.
Strategic responsibilities:
  • Deep understanding of the organization’s overall programming, fundraising, communications and advocacy objectives.
  • Ability to incorporate and balance the objectives of all departments to oversee the production of strategic, compelling stories.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal partners to coordinate and oversee the story collection and production.
  • Ability to maintain a story bank - using a database or other software/hardware solutions.
Overall Attitude:
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use research,  data, and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Someone who is not afraid to take initiative, is a multi-tasker, is reliable and good at hitting deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solver who can work in an environment where micromanaging is not part of the culture. Ability to keep superiors informed at all times of your work progress - managing up.
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writer and communicator (English - in both the written and verbal form).
  • Ability to work in a 100% digital environment using online collaboration tools with minimal supervision while being responsive in their internal communication for optimal collaboration.
  • Self-starting, independent & thinks in terms of solutions, not problems.
Requirements & Qualifications:
 
  • Excellent writer and communicator (English - in both the written and verbal form).
  • Experience with multiple forms of written content creation including stories, case studies, blog posts, customer profiles and press releases.
  • Self-starting, independent
  • Solution-oriented, result-driven.
  • Intermediate Adobe Skills in both graphic design and video editing
  • Strong wifi
  • Remote office set up for professionalism and focus
